Dad's 1st Step.

Today was Dad's first step. He exercised!!!??? Wah did I hear the heavens rejoice? Haa. Have been rather worried about Dad's health recently. Bloatedness, gastric, high blood pressure... aging, gaining weight. Worried. We have been asking him to go for strolls but he remained a NATO (No Action Talk Only) til today.

Dad is snoring away now ZZzzzZZz with the television program watching him. Haa I must have made him really tired. We took slightly more than a 1km walk and Dad decided to try out at the public gym area near our place. I was happy jogging while Dad took his stroll. As I encouraged him, Dad just smiled. I think he must be really proud of himself too! It was a great time spent. Strolling, chatting and just being with Dad.

"You once rejoiced over my first step. Today, I rejoice over yours..."

To Stay.

Went out with Zhen last night and it was such a pleasant catch up. I guess we had so much to say that many opened topics were left unclosed. So much that we were really reluctant to leave even despite the waiteress giving us several signals to leave. Thick-skinly, we both sat and talked and talked more and talked even more.... I guess its cos we have not talked for a year. A year.

To a friend whom I missed :
There are some friendships that are meant to stay despite the distance.
Ours is one. To stay. No distance is too great. Even as far as the West is from the East. *wink*

Koinonia - End

The retreat came to an end and these were my favourite pics from the whole of it.

Annabel the Creme Brulee. Ooooo Super Sweet.

Carissa the Shangri-La chocolate truffle. Who can resist?

it was such a beautiful ending when the Lord showed me a rainbow when we were at the Malaysia's causeway. Thanks Esther for her exclamation or I would have missed it.

God reminded me of His faithfulness. "...He will bring it to past..."

Koinonia - Day THREE

Jon led us in devotion and we were asked to read Luke 10:38-42. I was left with these thoughts...

1. Mary showed the greatest hospitality to the King of Kings by dining with Him.
  • Martha was busy preparing the place, dinner but Mary just sat with Jesus.
  • "God is most glorified when man is most satisfied in Him." John Piper.
  • True fellowship is when you are in the presence of the King.
2. Mary was focus and Martha was distracted.
  • Martha did many things for the preparation. Mary just did one thing.
  • Which is most impt? To attain great things for God or doing great things with God?
3. Martha spoke and complained. Mary listened. She just listened.
  • The high call of a disciple is really to listen and to listen attentively.
  • What have I missed out God?
Pastor Sam shared in his teaching which I thought quite tied in with what God has been speaking to me about:

  1. "Clarity of hearing is proportional to your Faith"
  2. Posture of a listener
  • Focused attention
  • Love-longing (Psalms 42:1-3, 7-8)
  • Humble waiting.

Lovely Tea Cup.

I had a great time just La kopi-ing with Carebear friend today. When was the last time we met man? Some donkey months ago? :) With you, I never seemed to be out of topic... er...yes, actually I am seldom out of topics. Haa What I am trying to say here is that with you, I am just comfortable to share anything under the sun. Yes anything! Thanks for the lovely tea cup Carebear friend. I know you have put in great thoughts into it. :) I lurve it. So English! Ahhh... can't stand it! Thanks.

A toast for greater friendship ahead. YUM......... oops I meant toast. *wink*

Koinonia - Day TWO

I really lurve the verse Pastor Sam shared with the congregation that day:

"The Lord confides in those who fear Him."
Psalms 25:14

Confides - a beautiful term that implies the intimate sharing of personal secrets.
when I heard that I went like, "wow! I wanna know God's secrets and I want that fear in me to increase."

The fear of the Lord is a term we always pray and talk about. What then is truly the fear of the Lord? Simple reverence and awe of Him? Is it more? This article provides a simple understanding of what the term means. Time to go back to Packer's 'Knowing God'.

Pastor Sam went on teaching that God speaks through the various ways:
  1. Invitation (The time when we were all once told of the gospel and invited to be in the family of God.)
  2. Scripture
  3. Teachers
  4. Worship
  5. Convictions
  6. Burdens
  7. Promptings
Prophetic Encouragement: Love + Encouragement + scripture = Bull's eye!
"If your motive is love, your purpose is encouragement and your content is scriptural, then you can't miss!"

How gay can this be right? haaa.....

I like this pose so much, Jenn has to take one too. haaaa

And everyone says "aw...."

Koinonia - Day ONE

God just wanted me there! Was supposed to give this retreat a miss but God made it all possible. Received a call the day before the retreat and was asked to replace her. Isn't God awesome?! By no coincidence I am there at the retreat and I thank God I was there cos I heard Him. Heard Him regarding my destiny, my life and the things that were in my heart. Heard Him regarding truths. I have rested well during the whole retreat. Physically and of course spiritually.
Prayer Power Night
  • Be Contagious!
Day 01
