Teachers' Day I

Our Deepest Fear
by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Watched Akeela and the Bee with JIE JIE On Teachers' day. GUess what?! That was the first time we ever catch a movie together. Surprised. Anyway this poem was taken from the movie and I just think that it is truly a teacher's heartbeat to help our pupils discover their potential and our job is to provide platforms for them to take flight and soar; to help them see that they are meant to shine and not settle for any thing lesser than that.

'...We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us...' Who are we really? Nothin but dust but HE chose to work through us. The God of this Universe can simply snap His fingers and get things done for Him in spilt seconds but He chose to be in partnership with us. Partners? With GOD? The Almighty? Mind-blowing! He chose to use us in ministries; to let us be that vessel to shine forth His glory. Such priviledge.
